Prove Yourself Wrong

It’s 3:00 am right now and I decided to watch motivational videos and write this before I go to sleep because why not. I noticed a lot of people saying prove everyone wrong, go out there and dream big! But how can I prove everyone else wrong when I haven’t even proved myself wrong.

I don’t know if it’s just me but I catch myself constantly changing my mind. I’m a procrastinator, before I get up out of bed each morning I tell myself I have time and hit the snooze button until I have no time at all. Before I do homework I watch a ton of netflix shows or YouTube videos until it gets to the point where I only have a few hours left to complete it. Whenever I attempt to get in shape I work my butt of for a few days and decide that I’m young and that I’ll start later on in life while still wishing I was in shape.

Basically, I’m a procrastinator.

One thing that I hate about growing up is that you learn all your life to shut up, sit down, and raise your hand when you think you have the right answer. I feel like I didn’t have time to dream and really find myself. Now I have to decide how I want to spend the rest of my life and what my ultimate goal is.

Since I am a procrastinator I’m stuck in this loop of wanting to get up but never doing it. Wishing things would improve but not improving them. I need to prove myself wrong. I need to get up in the morning and make my bed.

“If you have made your bed in the morning you have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride and it will encourage you to do another task.” (William H Mcraven)

Then they say “dream big” but no matter how big you dream it won’t matter unless you do it. Don’t wish, just do. Prove yourself wrong by changing your mind to where you’ve accomplished those dreams in the moment instead of looking in the past and wishing you did.

“The moment you have an instinct to act on your goal you must physically move in 5 seconds or your brain will stop you.”

Use the 5 second rule when you feel that hesitation from wanting to go do something, count down from 5 and move before your brain talks yourself out of it.
